MEETING TO SET UP RESIDENT'S [GARDENING] ASSOCIATION AT HOWARD HOUSE

given choice between a gardening ass and a general residents ass the meeting voted for the latter but as it was a close vote to re vote on the subject at the next meeting. Also no one was willing to take up any of the three posts that would need to be created for such a group. Also no one would offer themselves as an intermin chair.
Agreed to change the articles of association in two respects:
[i] the committee would only need three members
[ii] a minimum of two meetings per year would be required.
An association notice board was requested. Miles will act.
Miles explained window boxes. Fitted by end of march 2011.
Miles explained that gangways would have to be cleared.
Miles will attempt to get us access to one of the gardens in the new flats. He will keep us posted.
Miles explained roof garden situation: issue over strength of roof or building generally to carry weight of garden. Funding for a full survey is still being sought by miles and this survey will lay out how much weight each part of the roof can take. One tender for a roof garden came in at £68K. Access would be over and above that.
Miles will try to get us a bicycle shed.
Cctv was discussed inconclusively though cost would be prohibitive.
Next meeting agreed for 20th april. Type of association would be re voted for and three committee members would be voted for.
